Bright Young Things

This year's whole all-over sequin mini-dress thing has begun to feel like the Ugg boot thing of last year: over-done, on the verge of just plain over. Every designer all the way down to Banana Republic has some version of the original tank dress.

And yet, I still find myself wanting one. As a girly-girl I just can't resist a pretty party dress, let alone a bedazzled one.
These are a few that I think are just interesting enough to keep you from looking like a fashion victim:

I love this dress. It's classic in front with a deep V in back - hmmm... would that make it the mullet of sequin dresses? Ew. On second thought, forget that.
Could be worn to a holiday party or a family gathering with a tank underneath.

The black is great because it's simple, but the sequins make it festive.

This dress is difficult to wear if you're not model-skinny, and I'm definitely not. But I can't help thinking it would look great with an AA bandeau bra underneath (which would eliminate the need for double-sided tape)...
And definitely black tights to keep from showing too much skin.

You already know I'm obsessed with Mary-Kate and Ashley's new line Elizabeth and James, so of course I think this dress is amazing.
The tank style is similar to the Alice and Olivia and Tory Burch versions, but the razor-back and deep arm-holes add some edge.
Plus, the deep emerald color is both different and neutral, and has just enough holiday cheer without being too much.

I would feel like such the millionaire mini-mogul in this dress (by the way, in case you're keeping track, how many hyphenated words are in this post??? Hint: The answer is too many).
